Honest expectations: a browser can't re-compress the JPEGs already embedded in a PDF or run the same optimizations desktop tools do. This pass removes unused objects and rebuilds the file with compressed cross-reference streams, which helps most on PDFs that were exported with a lot of editing history or redundant metadata. Image-heavy scans usually won't shrink by much.
